What is happening at Modwright? An update…
2025 has been a busy year! It has also been one of the best sales years for ModWright.
The PH 9.0XT and Analog Bridge have proven themselves to be exceptional tube sources for many ModWright customers. The PH 9.0XT is our best selling product of all time by volume. It is quiet, extremely flexible, provides enough gain for even the lowest output MC cartridges and simply makes music! It has exceptional bass, especially for a tube phono. The Analog Bridge has proven to many people, to be an invaluable addition to their existing all SS or hybrid tube/SS system. The first job of the Analog Bridge is to ‘Do No Harm’ to the signal. It has a very low noise floor, very low distortion (< .003% THD) and wide bandwidth (flat to > 150Khz). What it DOES bring to the sound, is the body, weight and 3-dimensional soundstage that only tubes can. It also offers three different adjustable variables, to achieve the desired tone in your system. Switching between 6922 and 6SN7 circuits offers a very different tonal pallette and rolling rectifier tubes adds a further level of tonal refinement. https://youtu.be/t0s8_WLu_T4
The LS 99 balanced tube preamp and the KWA 99 mosfet monoblock power amplifiers have also proven to offer exceptional performance in a more affordable range of products, purposely designed with modern space constraints in mind. Like the PH 9.0 and Analog Bridge, the LS 99 and KWA 99 mono blocks are designed in 10″W enclosures. The product that we are bringing to the market next is our KWA 300 Reference Solid State stereo power amp. Debuted in concept form at Dallas this year: https://youtu.be/vWQUI7WYSLQ It will be the complement to the Award Winning LS 300 Reference balanced tube preamp and PH 150 Reference tube phono. The KWA 300 will be a powerful amp, at 300W into 8 and 550W into 4 ohms. It will be followed by a Monoblock version, at higher power levels yet!
This blog post may sound like a year end retrospective, but that is not really my intent. Rather, I am trying to catch everyone up with the exciting things that ModWright has done this year. And, to start off a regular series of ModBlog posts that will range in subjects, reflecting on what is going on in my mind and the exciting things that we are working on.
