KWA 99’s – Best Monblocks of 2025!

The KWA 99 mono block amps are our most current SS amplifier offering. Providing 100W/8 and 200W/4 in a compact form factor and manageable 30lb (each) weight, they simply make music! Designed around the exceptional Exicon Lateral MOSFETs, these amps perfectly balance warmth and musicality with speed, resolution and dynamic detail.

This product was intended to suit a modern lifestyle and sensibility. The smaller footprint and manageable weight allow for a lot of flexibility in placement. You don’t have to have a Man Cave and a strong back to enjoy the KWA 99’s.

They have enough power to drive all but maybe the most demanding electrostat speakers. They run warm but not hot, in High ‘A’ Class AB bias.

The amber glow of the VU meters round out the experience with an aesthetic that simply makes me happy. These are my favorite all around amplifiers.

Steve originally reviewed the KWA 99 amplifiers with the LS 99 Tube Preamp earlier this year, and very favorably compared them to his own Nagra setup! I like the fact that the KWA 99’s are sitting on top of the Nagra amps in the video. I have huge respect for Nagra, and consider them to be one of the most respected manufacturers of truly fine audio gear. For our work to be compared this way to Nagra products makes me very proud.
